About The Role CIQUHP
We have a unique opportunity for a highly organised knowledge management professional with a strong foundation in B2B Marketing techniques. Working in support of London’s Smart Mobility Living Lab (SMLL) and TRL’s Academy, the position will be responsible for delivering new mobility insights across the SMLL’s Innovation Community membership and for leveraging these insights as marketing collateral for TRL Academy programmes. The output of this work will harness TRL’s thought leadership and other market related intelligence and contribute towards the wider sales and marketing strategy.
The SMLL is an £18m project to provide an urban testbed for Connected and Automated Vehicles that will include over 20 km of instrumented roads, next generation communications equipment, data centres, vehicle workshops and state of the art control centres. The Academy is TRL’s innovation and development centre that delivers research programmes and projects underpinning our position as a leading transport research institute.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a Researcher with a Marketing and PR mindset to complement the TRL community and strengthen our messaging.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Gather and analyse community feedback / intelligence, and share with colleagues to support sales and marketing campaigns
Create insights combining TRL White Papers/ Thought leadership, with insight in relevant markets
Conduct market research across the mobility and technology industries
Build strong relationships with existing SMLL Innovation community members to understand their needs, and help build external reputation to attract new membership.
Develop and maintain SMLL’s virtual community area as one of the key channels for exclusive insight sharing
In collaboration with the wider Academy, grow and deliver an applied new mobility consultancy service delivering the business and technical insights generated by TRL and the SMLL to new and existing customers.
Collaborate with colleagues so that technical expertise is harnessed to create marketing collateral and thought leadership
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will exude enthusiasm for the new mobility domain and possess the self-motivation and drive to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment. You will be able to gauge opportunities and risks relating to communication with targeted audiences, and act upon it to generate continuous messaging with minimum guidance.
Key attributes for this role will be:
Extensive experience across market research and knowledge management.
Sound technical knowledge of B2B marketing techniques with some knowledge or interest in relevant markets (Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Smart Cities and New Mobility)
Strong analytical skills and business acumen accompanied by a commercial outlook
Ability to manage delivery through others (internally in TRL) and externally (with agencies and suppliers)
Ability to work with marketing automation systems to support lead generation and other marketing campaigns – collecting cross industry news and events
Able to work independently, whilst also being a strong team player
An eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
An aptitude for innovation and an ability to think creatively
Applicants should be degree qualified or have equivalent professional qualifications and experience.
The role requires a resourceful, articulate verbal and written communicator who has the ability to influence others through the use of sound judgement and well-constructed marketing collateral.
