DevOps Engineer (Senior) – Customer Communications – London/Essex

An experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer is required to build a group wide capability to support the live application base and development environments. Based between the Central London and Essex offices you will be required to travel on occasion to other UK sites. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the support of the Application environments, including web, print solutions and other strategic business platforms. This will involve base build, deployment, troubleshooting and general support. The Engineers will also be expected to contribute ideas on how to improve system performance, operation and process. You will undertake scheduled work eg system optimisation, hotfixes, change requests and new projects where required as well as provide mentoring, guidance and instruction to more junior members of the team. The role will include day to day support and monitoring of systems, including investigation and resolution of faults, data processing issues and working with supporting areas ie POT, Client Services and Development.
Key responsibilities will be Support ticket resolution of technical issues (application/database/Web deployments – configuration and optimisation), investigation of issues to identify problems in production systems, data analysis, workflow, logfiles, database and code. You will deploy applications into the Test and Production Environments, build and deploy databases for use in production as well as build, deploy and administer ISS, including Website deployments and associate configurations (eg DB connections)
Ideally you will have 5-10 years+ experience in a DevOps/Application Support or senior development/
systems integrations role. You will be an expert in MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 and possess a good understanding of C#.Net/ASP.NET along with CI/CD DevOps Online/TeamCity/Octopus Deploy. Experienced in Puppet/Forman or other equivalent technology, Windows Server Linux (CentOs, AIX) would be an advantage as would Control DevOps Online/GIT and exposure to Web/Application Server architectures. Knowledgeable in diverse Web Authentication Methods, you will be security aware – PCI/
OWASP Top Ten, understand POT capabilities of the business and the interaction with EA and Solutions (ie Quadient, Nexdox) along with underlying business systems and interactions (eg DigiQ, Navision, PCI environment). You will be expert in compliance with the Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and its associated policies.
